Tanzania is located in East Africa, with its eastern border on the Indian Ocean. To the north are Uganda and Kenya; to the west, Burundi, Rwanda, and Zaire; and to the south, Mozambique, Zambia, and Malawi. The total area of the country is slightly smaller than Texas and New Mexico combined.

Tanzania contains three of Africa's best-known lakes -- Victoria in the north, Tanganyika in the west, and Nyasa in the south. The Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College is located near the base of spectacular, snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro.
